Welcome to Barton Hills Country Club

It is our pleasure to welcome you to Barton Hills Country Club as our guest. We are proud to offer you a quality Private Club experience that is consistent with standards of excellence in dining and services, and upholds the traditions of the great game of golf. Whether golfing, dining, or socializing, our goal is provide every guest of the club with an enjoyable visit and a memorable experience. For your enjoyment and comfort, we ask that you kindly observe the Club policies adopted by the members of Barton Hills Country Club:

Smoking Policy

In accordance with the State of Michigan’s Smoking law, the Clubhouse, outdoor dining spaces, and pool complex are smoke-free including cigarettes, e-cigarettes, vape pens, cigars, and marijuana.

Mobile Devices

The use of cell phones is not permitted in the Clubhouse Dining Rooms. Please step outside or in the hallways to make or receive calls. The use of earbuds for phone calls is permitted but they may only be used in areas where cell phones are allowed. The use of cell phones for silent communication is acceptable as long as it is not disrupting fellow members.

Dress Code Policy

Golf Course

Traditional golf clothing is the accepted norm. The dress code applies to all members, guests, and children. Shorts and skirts should be no shorter than fingertip length; sleeveless shirts must have a collar and collarless shirts must have sleeves. Gentlemen are required to have their shirts tucked in at all times. All hats must be worn brim forward while on the golf coursePlease note that not all attire sold in the Golf Shop is permitted to be worn on the course. 

 

Unacceptable Attire: Blue jeans, denim, athletic shorts, short shorts or skirts, cargo pants or shorts, swimwear, t-shirts, sweat clothes, halter tops, tube tops, or backward-facing hats. All other attire is at the discretion of the professional golf staff.

 

Clubhouse

While in the Clubhouse or Outdoor Dining Spaces, Members and their guests are asked to dress in a manner commensurate with a private club setting. Crisp-tailored denim is allowed year-round in the Sun Room, Bar, Grill, Outdoor Dining, Lower Grill, and Pool Complex. Appropriate golf and tennis attire is acceptable in the Bar and on the Veranda. Razorbacks and sleeveless athletic tops should be covered with appropriate Club attire. Sports jackets are recommended in the Catalpa Room and dress denim will not be allowed unless for private parties or events. 

Hats for both Ladies and Gentlemen are permitted to be worn in the Locker Rooms, Golf Simulator area, and on the Veranda with brims facing forward. Ladies are permitted to wear dress hats throughout the Clubhouse. Ladies may wear golf hats in the Bar and Lower Grill with brims facing forward.  

Unacceptable Attire: Swimwear, jeans with holes or fraying, cargo shorts or pants, or t-shirts. All other attire is at the discretion of Management. 

 

Special events may have a specific dress code, please inquire with the staff about the dress code for a particular event. 

 

Pool Complex

All swim apparel worn at the pool must be appropriate for a family environment. Thong-style swim apparel or similar revealing swimwear is not permitted at the pool at any time.
